i think it may have been for his last thread showing some stuff he made, i guess they considered it a commercial post?

is it really a commercial post when he is just posting pics of the things he built for people/friends? Is it a business of his, or just a little talent he has that he uses on the side? basically I'm asking if I built a stand for someone and then posted pics of it...wouldn't it be the same thing as he did? I've got some wood skills...he's got some acrylic skills.

Yea that seems really tough, though DGenR8 did say he has been warned. As to whenever it was a commercial post, definitely not IMO, I don't know how it's different then if he posted he just bought a ton of name brand equipment and was posting pics.

Yes, it is a commercial post, specially if you are warned not to post it again. Manny is a great guy and I feel bad that this happened to him but rules are rules and I am sure that real commercial accounts pay a lot of money to be able to advertise their products here, you should expect RC mods to defend those interests.
Hopefully he will be able to get the banned lifted after some time and we can enjoy his opinions once again.

Yeah, I tried to sell some tank-raised frags once and they shut my thread down in like 2 min. RC staff is really harsh about that kinda stuff.
Once you've gone commercial there is no such thing as "non-commercial" to them. That's why I hang out at clubzoa all the time now. They are much more laid back about that kind of stuff.
I still consider myself a hobbyist even though I sell corals for a living, but most people don't see it that way. I understand both sides, but I see a lot of questionable hobbyists selling stuff on RC all the time and they don't get reported.

That's a very good idea, Jess.
You know, as I sat with my wife here in Miramar Memorial....we were discussing this situation and she reminded me of the FMAS website, and that we should have a simple forum for locals there.Our son's play group, has a simple forum section in thier website, and that's were the local moms contact each other.
This has been discussed. I will look into any open-source discussion software that's available out there. Let me know if anybody has experience with one. Also we'll have to work out the details for authentication, moderators, etc. Obviously, we don't want profanity or OT subjects on a website representing the club.

What is wrong with this one? seems fine to me. everybody has access, you don't have to pay if you don't want to, it is moderated for us, it has tons of exposure worldwide.
