Manny, aka "thesaent14" got banned?

It is great, and if Manny was warned he should have known better. I guess i just get defensive when one of our own members gets banned. Now that I think of it though he was pretty much posting pics of his designs for the past few months and nothing else.
 
Manny did not have any items for sale on his last thread and was simply posting to show off some of his work. He did not offer to make anyone anything on his last thread nor did he provide his number so that people can contact him. I understand there are rules but in this case i truly feel he did not break any. It seems that the mods already warned him about selling items on here as a business/commercially but he did not violate that with his last thread. It seems that the mods may have gotten upset and/or a bit ****ed that he went around them and posted pics of some items he made for someone. I truly feel this was wrong in banning him and was spearheaded by someone who may have just had it out for him and was on a powertrip.

Manny is a good guy and yes he builds things for some of the forum guys here and there but i dont think that constitutes him as a commercial business. Everytime someone else sells a bunch of gear on a thread (see those threads all day everyday) and then sells frags the next day then next week sells a chiller followed by some more frags they dont get tossed but Manny who i see as a positive individual in this RC community gets the boot???? Thats wrong and the RC mods should look into this and re-evaluate the premise for his termination from this community. For the record i just recently met Manny and he's helped me out more than most and has truly been a great asset for me as I am a novice and continue to run into issues daily. Manny is a good guy and does not deserve this. Im done now...
 
Manny really was great for the community, and it sucks that he got banned, however it really isn't our place to sit here and complain about it. Why? Because I've seen people get banned for asking/talking too much about it, and I've even been contacted by the mods before for supporting someone who got banned.

Just throwing it out there.
 
I completely agree with ghstrider.

That said this is there house and if they say manny cant do acrylic then...If you come to my house I expect that you follow my rules or are asked to leave. I will give a warning first.

I like manny. He is a really nice guy that took a hobby and became a artisan.
 
Rogger Castells I don`t think that posting what u build is a commercial post ..........in the past he the make some "commercial post" that`s why he got warned but showing hes jobs to hes friends TO ME is not commercial,like GHSTRIDER say {{{{{{{{{{Manny did not have any items for sale on his last thread and was simply posting to show off some of his work. We never discuss details about a user's status with anyone but that user.

It doesn't matter if he's "commercial to you" his current status is entirely his own doing.
 
I dont think it was a commercial post. I see alot of other big name people on here that are commercial but do you see them getting band "NO" you dont . I guess it all depends on who you are friends with. They wanted to band me when I had some new equipment for sale that I bought and decided not to use. I guess he was warned about offering to do stuff . That I understand but for just showing off what you built thats no commercial. If thats the case anyone that has ever built something for someone , should they be band for being commercial. As far this being there house then everyone should have to go by the same rules not just pick and choose who they want to let stay and to band.

I have talked to Manny and he says he is not even able to email anyone on reefcentral to even talk to anyone about whats going on. So how do you dicuss things if there is no form of conmucation.

Contact MAXReefer. You can find him in the Nano Tank forum for the RSM tank owners. He set up a site just for RSM owners and it has both a forum and a chat room.

Anyways all of u know who Manny is and yes he's still a great guy.
So if any of u need his # and or ways to comunicate with him he's very easy to find.

Ricardo, you are right, that post alone is not a commercial post, However, when you have more commercial postings in the past, which he had, and you are giving a warning not to continue posting, which they did, then that post is in my opinion sufficient to get him in trouble, which happened.
 
just to point something out....

manny has a web address in his profile to a business, if I was a mod I would consider all his post to be commercial.

he was pushing his luck
 
IMO - it's the words that "weren't" said in his last post that got him in trouble.

Looking closely at his last post, I did not see any mention about how much he was selling his work, he was just showing off his talent. This is a hobby after all, why should anyone be banned for being proud of his work and sharing with others. I understand he was warned previously but I don't think he violated any rules in his last post.

Pretty harsh IMO and really disappointed with RC.
