mantis and GSP together?

I've wanted a mantis for quite a while. Due to some unfortunate events lately, I have my 200gal plywood tank available for a new project.

For some background - I have a 75gal brackish tank that started off as a mudskipper home. I brought home a baby GSP one day, they got along well for a while, but a few weeks ago the GSP killed the skipper. Not outright, just nipped all its fins off and I think it died from infection, I didn't catch the extent of the damage until too late. Anyway, I was going back and forth between keeping the GSP and doing FOWLR in the 75, or giving it away and getting another skipper.

However, now that the big tank is open, I might be able to have both. Keep the 75 brackish and do FOWLR in the 200. I would prob do the GSP and a bunch of damsels, and I've been trying to figure out if a smasher mantis would work in there as well? The tank is obviously a custom job, 4'x5'x18" tall, 3 wood sides and a 1/4" glass front.

thanks for clarification - lol - was starting to worry about my green star polyps!
curiosity - with the 3 wood sides, are they glass on the inside and plywood on the outside?

I'm just pulling this one out of my @ss, but I'd guess no.

AFAIK, puffers are predators, and with their hard teeth they'd chomp down on a mantis for dinner.

hahahaha...close but not quite.

I was hoping that since the puffer will only get 5-6", someone would tell me if I got a 8-12" smasher mantis, they would do alright in a tank that size.

I think it would be a bloody show down somewhere near Storrs, CT.

BALISTIK, I haven't seen GSP, but I swear I saw Rampage checking out a Mantis at Tong's once time near HB. Or maybe that was Justin McCully *shrug*
