Mantis and Zoos

Just wondering if Mantis shrimp are known for eating Zoos??? We are planning an all zoo tank and want to put our mantis in there too. Will he eat them???

nope,

Stomatopods do not eat corals. But may move them around or smaller frags can get sand on top of them. I house a 6'' O. scyllarus (peacock mantis) in a 30gal cube with just zoas. He was in my 55gal reef for the longest time. Just have the right size tank for them and he should be fine. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I'm glad he'll behave himself in there...lol...We are looking forward to putting him in his new home. It's going to be a 30gal tank. Right now he's in the fuge.

yup, what he said. just dont be surprised if the mantis carries off small frags and hides them, or places them in spots you dont want him to. mantis could also potentially club pieces of rock contains zoas off of a larger rock, so that it can use those smaller pieces in its burrow.

My brother has a mantis that uses a frag of eagle eyes as his front hatch door to his borrow. Its pretty cool looking.
