Mantis carrying sponge

I woke up this morning and looked in the tank and noticed that my Smithii is swimming backwards. I looked agin and it appears that he was carrying around a pink spongelike thing. What is it and what do i do?

I would not worry about it. It is probably just sea spange from your live rock.

...i have reef bone in that tank...its 100% dead...no coral

egg? like little mantises? what do i do th raise em?

If they are fertile, they will hatch in about three weeks and then die in the plankton from starvation. If the female was not storing sperm, she will eat them in a few days.

Hey Roy, is there anyway to keep those babies alive? What kind of food would they need? Will marine snow, or dafnia work at all??
