Mantis growth?

I'm pretty sure I've got a small mantis shrimp that arrived in my LR. I've never seen it, but have heard the typical tapping sound at night. I think it must be very small still, because I've only lost one small(inch and a half)Rainsford Goby to it. At least I think that's why it disappeared. My question is how fast do these things grow. If not fast then I would think I really shouldn't have too much to worry about except with smaller fish, right?

Most critters in captivities dont normally grow that fast or even to their full size. However, I'm not an expert on mantis growth pattern its just my opinion. good luck catching it.

I got my green mantis at about 1.5" and in a years time I'd estimate she's added another inch to that. But if I'm not mistaken, that will be about the maximum size my mantis will reach.

She's fed about 3 times a week and molts occur about every month and a half. It's obviously hard to say because we don't know what kind you have, nor what its diet is.

Off thread slightly, when do mantis usually show adult colouration? (looking to buy a peacock and LFS can't positively ID him for me so going to have a look)
