Hey MMm-mantis and others,
I have been keeping a single mantis shrimp now for about 8 months and I think it is time for me to move on to bigger and better things. So I am down at my local LFS when low and behold they have an setup they used for inverts that they said they would sell to me.
Its a 33 gallon tank that is split into 6 different sections, getting a little over 5 gallons each. Now I currently have a G. Platyasoma (sp?) and was wondering if I could move him into this tank and if a little over 5 gallons would be enough. If its not enough I could just take out an acrylic divider and give him 2 slots of the hotel. I plan to use one as a refugium and to throw a protein skimmer on there with like 10 pounds of lr and a hob filter.
Do I have much in terms of options on mantis to keep or is just a waste of time?
If there aren't many interesting Mantids I could keep in there anyone else got any suggestions? I am very open
BTW the tank is like 50 bucks, that a good deal?
