Mantis in a reef tank?

So, my wife has a 40 gallon TBS package (at our office) which we just finished putting the second part in the tank last night. We managed to get all of the mantis out of the rock by dipping with the exception of one that we caught this morning and placed in a holding bin. He is a Neogonodactylus Wennerae.

I already have 3 of them in species tank (at home), and my wife has always enjoyed watching them, but don't know how much damage (aside from hermits and snails) he will cause in her reef tank. I have only ever had them in a species tank. I am not worried about missing snail or hermits, as I already order them monthly for my other 3 mantis.

He's currently about 1" long. My concern is that he'll go after the 1" Tiger goby I have, so I'm not 100% about putting him back.

fwiw - i have had one in my reef for over 2 years and he has never touched a thing - he is a n wenn also.

I put a piece of suncoral in my peacocks tank once and it was fine for about 10 minuted then i came back and he was smashing away at it, i took it out ****ed off and put it back in my reef, tried some GSP next and it was completely fine never touched it, i guess its kind of touch and go situation

well he went back in, and then we discovered another type of mantis. We currently done have a positive ID on him as he is very shy. Once I can get a picture I will be posting for a positive ID.

If anyone happens to know what he is, he came off of Tampa Bay Salt Waters rock, and is almost candy cane striped. Dark brick red, and cream. At least from what we can tell. He has been fairly shy, but I am working on training him with frozen krill to try to get him out of his hole. I havn't seen the meral spots yet, and he is always in the depths of his cave. He stays in one rock, and has a lot of tunnels to play in, so it is not your typical "U" shaped home. Well, I will post back when I can get a picture of him. Maybe Roy knows exactly what it is off the top of his head! lol =P
