Mantis Shrim trap

Anyone have a trap that I could used to remove a mantis from my display tank? (have you ever used such trap to catch one?) I absolutely beyond a doubt have a grey colored mantis living in a large live rock at the bottom of my aquascape. I know that he has atleast two holes he can come and go through, because he can come out from below the rock on the sand bed and the also comes through a whole about an inch above the sand. I've know that he was in there for sometime now as I've heard the clicking, but just the last few days have I finally found his home.

He's pretty small right now. Probably only about an 1-1.5" long.

Remember that mantis are diurnal and not nocturnal. If you use a trap, make sure you're around to pull out the mantis. If it stays in the coke bottle too long, it will figure out how to swim out. Many people say to load the trap and go to bed....this won't work.

I would have to agree. I got quite a few sightings last night during feeding time at around 6:30pm. I'll attemp to catch it tonight. I already have 2 people intested in keeping it for a pet.

the trap is set up and I've attracted 2 hermit crabs that insist that they need to be in the bottle with the food. However I've also attracted the Mantis, but I think he is only intrested in the crabs out front of the trap. I should I move the crabs out of the way?

Take that sucker up for credit at the LFS or somthin for some reason people a start in to really like those lil thumb smashers :)
