Mantis shrimp???

Anyone have one of these bad boys that came as a hitchiker or know where I can get one besides Eddie's??? I'm setting up a tank just for him. Any help would be great.

I do know of web sites that sell them. try checking the ussual sites .in anycase union can get them also. they would have to special order it for you as it is not a ussual stock item that they sell.

Thanks, I'm trying to stay away from ordering offline because shipping is killer. I'll go check union and see what they can order me.

I know Tony over at SB has a bright yellow one for sale. I'm not certain, but I think he's a slasher (as opposed to a smasher)

I went yesturday, I believe it was $79.99. A bit expensive IMO for a mantis shrimp, and yes its a slasher. I'm not bashing him or anything, I absolutely love his shop.

I don't know how retail pricing on mantis usually works. It's always nice to get them in on liverock, but I guess if you're looking for a nice specimen through a wholesaler, they might cost arm and a leg (or thumb for that matter!).

I once saw a peacock mantis for sale for a good deal more than that. Talk to Tony and tell him you're with the club. He may be willing to negotiate.
