mantis tank setup

i have a 29g tank and i am in the process of buying the necessary equipment
i am wondering what you guys mostly use in your tank?
do you guys deck it out with live rock/live sand, skimmers, multiple power heads, strong lighting?
or is it much more simple?

i have basically the same tank and am in the same situation. I have 22lbs of LR in there, a deep coral sand substrate, one maxijet 900 powerhead, dim t8's and no skimmer.

well currently it has a skimmer, but thats only until the water gets tip top (only added the rock yesterday)

Your lighting will depend on the species, for some it is unhealthy to have bright lighting. Do some searches on this forum, Dr. Roy has talked about it a couple of times that I've seen.

Hi, I've tried searching quickly, but wasn't able to find anything. a bit short on time so i will try again tomorrow.
the species i am interested in is the peacock (O. scyllarus )

so the recommended amount of 2lbs of live rock per gallon would not be there?
also, do you think a smasher type could live peacefully with maybe a clown or two?
