Mantis update (250g display)

My (presumed) N. wennerae is doing well in his 250g palace. He arrived in a batch of FL aquacultured LR last April or May. I've found MANY busted cerith snails in the tank, but he doesn't seem to have any interest in bigger snails so far. I'm 100% certain he's a basher, so I'm not terribly worried about fish. He's currently sharing with a pair of clowns and an achilles tang. As long as he behaves, he's welcome to stay in the tank indefinitely.

Yesterday, he decided to come out and pose for pictures.

wow. I hope he doesn't crack your tank.

No worries, it's 1" thick acrylic, so the tank is more or less bulletproof. Also, to my knowledge, he never leaves the rocks to venture into the open.

he must feel like a king! and if you kept him in a ten gallon there would be no worry of him cracking that.

If it came in on TBS it's most likely an n wennerae.

Maybe this will help:

The rock is aquacultured LR from my LFS, but I didn't ask who their supplier was. This LFS has several LR vats containing different types, but I don't know if they are plumbed together, or if it's possible for a mantis to get from one vat to the other.
