Mantis Vs. Soft Corals

Is a 24 gallon reef of soft corals (shrooms, palys, zoas, GSP, Clove polyps) a suitable tank for a mantis? I have kept a mantis before, just not in a coral tank. Are they compatible?

24 gal tank, 30 lbs. LR and 30 lbs. LS., with above mentioned softies.

Thanks in Advance!

Ah yes, a little Mantis Feng Shui...lol

My rockwork goes all the way to the top and almost to each side, and I have NO eggcrate on the bottom. Do you think the Mantis will undermine the rockwork such that it will expose it to the bottom of the tank and cause scratching/leakage?

This is a AquaPod btw.

TIA

I have kept several mantis with corals and other than the afore mentioned Mantis Fung Shui it shouldn't be a problem for the corals. The answer to your other question about it digging and undermining your rock, that totally depends on the mantis species. The mantis I have in my reef now lives in a softball sized rock he has hollowed out. Some like to build rock burrows and others like to burrow in the sand. A mantis that stays under 3" or so shouldn't be able to break a tank. Its the bit G. ternitensis and Peacocks taht may prove problematic but should be kept in a bigger tank anyway.

My Peacock is in a 30 gal soft coral tank...other than the disappearing, re-appearing, re-disappearing ricordias I havent had any issues
