Mantis ?

I have had part 1 of the package in the tank now for about two weeks everything going great . I have a clicking noise that comes and goes I have tried the water bottle trap with no sucess . There are a few crabs that have settled in and don't hide . How long till the mantise showes his face if it is a mantise ? I think I would like to get him out of the tank but havent had any luck yet .LOL

If it is a pistol is it a problem and will the waterbottle trap work on them ?

Pistol shrimp are totally benign and won't harm any of your other inhabitants (and they are totally cool). You'll probably never see them unless you go looking for them after lights out (use a red flashlight shined into the aquarium). I still have pistol shrimp 4 years out from installing the package.

Ok thanks .It seemed people were getting picyures of there mantis shrimp and I thought it was just kind of strange we havent seen anything from our clicker .

I have had my package for about a month now and everything is going very well and I too have the clicking noise from time to time. Some times we will hear it every night and then nothing for a few nights, about a week ago my girlfriend spotted a very fast moving creature she described as centipede looking. I'm guessing it is a mantis? so I will try the bottle trap too. What is the best thing to bait it with?
