Marc Weiss products

All just another product to take your money IMO. Reefing can be an affordable hobby as long as one does not get suckered into buying unnecessary junk to put into their tanks.

i used the reef vital dna a while back, and had pretty good results with it. it just made the tank look better overall. He has since changed the formula (i think) compared to about 4 years ago. Not the same results so i stopped wasting my $. i just bought his "reef bugs" and they are soaking in a cup of tank water now. i'll let u know if i notice a difference with them. My friend at my lfs said he started using it and he noticed an increaes in tunicates and sponges where there werent any before so lets see if this does what its advertised to do. i just got my water tested: 0 nitrate, 0 nitirite, 0 ammonia, ph 8.0-8.1 (being buffed to 8.3 as we speak, alkalinity was 110 ( a little high, nothing to worry about) and my calcium was 340 because all my stonies have started taking off and i didnt realize i was underdosing. maybe one day i'll get around to a calcium reactor but till then its the b-ionic 2 part. anyways enough jibber jabber, i'll let u guys know how it goes witht he reef bugs , if i see any coral growth or sponges, etc.

I used some spectra-vital or something when I was in the process of suring my live rock, and I think it helped keep some sponged and feather dusters alive and well, other than that I noticed no difference when I stopped using it once the tank had matured.

If you are looking for a dry supplement to feed your tank, try reef chili. My corals do open up when that is introduced into the tank, and the fish will eat it as well, just a thought.

Sounds like some random s**t.

animal byproducts ?

My word!!!!!!

Steve, I don't think that useing stuff that does not come from the ocean would be very usefull.

For example, Nori weed IMO would be the best source of "trace elements" that I can think of.

Otherwise, only use stuff you can test for, with a few exeptions like Iron, and maybe silica.

Marc weiss is a scam artist.

and a complete friggin nut... that being said, i am still gonna give "reef bugs" a shot. already bought it anyways, but after reading the side of the box it seems like a load of complete bull...

animal byproducts sounds pretty much like animal poop to me. i'm too skeptical to use any product with any highfalutin words in it.
