If you are new to ARKSC, and want to know more about us, this may help: http://www.arksc.org/ark-faq

The very first discussions to make ARKSC official occurred at our March meeting at Westport Aquarium a year ago. So we set March as the time of our Annual Meetings. To celebrate our first “official” year we’ll be serving pizza and refreshments, and holding a drawing for a $100 dollar gift certificate from Westport Aquarium.

We’ve worked really hard to organize in a way that we can avoid “business”, and focus on fun when we meet. And based this last year, I’d like to think we’ve been pretty successful. But we can’t avoid ALL business forever, so once a year we have a “real” meeting where we hold our officer elections. So we’ll be looking for members in good standing to come and VOTE! Everyone else is welcome to join in the discussion. If there is any way we can make this club better together, this is the best time all year to bring it up!

So if you’re going to make any meeting all year… this is the one to attend. Come hungry. Come ready to meet. Come ready to talk about reefing. And if you’re feeling lucky, come ready to draw the Grand Prize ticket!

Hope to see you there.

**Address and more details will be posted on the ARKSC homepage**

I will try my best to be there, but set me as a maybe for now. If you have our member cards ready and I cant make it please give mine to my brother arusso.

Thanks

BUMP! Gotta move this up. If there is one meeting to make all year folks... this is the one. :)

I should be able to make this. Joe can I get those snails from you that we didn't connect on last month please.

I am pruning more coral back, anyone want some? Blue tip acro (or bluish/purple depending on lighting) and monti digis. Both of these are easy to grow varieties. The monti digi will grow even in tanks that aren't ready for acros. I have a pest free tank, I haven't put anything new in my tank for a long time.

I also have yellow para-zoanthids. They are a nice color with longer tentacles than zoanthids (nice wavy motion), but they will colonize the whole rock they are on, so my recommendation is to put them on a rock that is separate from your main rock work, or you will eventually need to corral or otherwise control their spread.

Wow! Can I take a place in line for some of that Greg?

I can bring some green birds nest, pink birds nest, red monti cap (that's only orange in my tank because my lights too dim) pink rimmed green monti cap, or green star polyp. If there is real interest, i can try to pull some neon green frogspawn, purple frogspawn, or neon green branching hammer. They're just a bit harder to prune, and need to know before I start ripping stuff out. But glad to if there is a demand. :)

Frankly it's hard to believe I'm saying any of this. Two years ago I'd never splashed water on live rock. Today my little 29g is bursting at the seams with pest-free coral. I guess that's what having reef buddies near by to call on can help do for you. ;)

I would love some frogspawn!! and a hammer also!!

I have some teal green zoa's that I am going to try and frag... This is my first time doing it. But I will bring some with me.

The red monti's easy. Lemme see if I can get that frogspawn and hammer out of the tank. If so, I'll whip out the dremmel and get you some. ;)

Hate to take this off-topic however there is some official business.

The Board of Directors has proposed two changes to our by-laws. Members will be voting on this at the meeting.

The proposed changes are posted here

I will also have copies available at the meeting.

Well if you are doing the hammer I will take the hammer so that you don't have to take both out of the tank ether one.

Is there an April meeting set up? We have a prior commitment for the 27th (every last Sunday of the month).

Hey Sue - we are working on the April meeting. We'll post it as soon as the details are available.

Fragging is fun - bonecutters are great for sps and a dremel is great for cleanly cutting through lps skeletons, I use the dremel and a hobby knife (razor blade) for zoos. A dremel with a diamond wheel is great tool to have in your fragging arsenal.
