We will have 4 to 5 different coral colonies we are going to frag for the members.

Jared, thanks for starting this thread, it needed to be done. Just to let everybody know, the rules for the frag/membership drive have slightly changed this year. There will be a $5 opt in for the corals being fragged. family memberships can go twice through, but will be an additional $5 for the extra round of corals. There will also be a ticket system for recieving your corals so we dont have anybody with a bag full of stuff and others with nothing.

I would like to see everybody on this thread post about suggestions for corals to be fragged. right now we are thinking 4 to 5 colonies of different corals. So let us know what kind of stuff you would like to see cut, like leathers, zoas, chalice, acros, etc.. nothing crazy though (acanthastrea Hillae, Symphillia Wilsoni, ETC)

everybodys dues will also be due at this meeting. as stated at previous meetings, membership dues will be $30 for single and $45 for a family, and this pertains to the entire year of membership until the following march, along with any demonstrations and givaways we will be having.

This is one of the best meeting of the year, and im looking forward to seeing everybody there. Make sure to give scott a big thanks for hosting and getting the colonies we will be cutting for the club

Softies in the past haven't seemed to do as well as the LPS and SPS with the exception of zoas.I just hope it will be a little warmer this year.

We would love to see some birdsnest, cyphastrea, zoas and nice chalices. =)

Dont we all but we will have to see what kind of deals we can get for the club.I know we spent a pretty penny last year and didnt have a great turn out and lost a good deal of money.

no reason to count all the chickens out of the coop yet, i remember a few years ago we cut up a toadstool leather that did fine. since we are doing a pre pay for the frag drive, i think that gives us a few more options.

Not sure if this is a option or not, but I really want some deep purple and deep blue acro's. preferable stags. maybe something new to this area.
I love the frag drive but I'm at the point where I'm very selective of what animals I put in. So here is my thought of the day. What if we had two different frag drives. A General which would be for new members or members that aren't as selective in their coral choices and a Selective drive. We could have a "œA" list of corals. High end/wish list/experienced reefers drive.:bounce3::bounce2::bounce3::bounce2::bounce1::bounce1:

We could put the wish list online and people could put their name by the items they are interested in. This way we would know what corals to get. The General would be the normal frag drive price and the Selective drive would be a additional $xxx

Thoughts?????

I also realize this puts a lot more work on the officers"¦.. :deadhorse:

sometimes to do things like that, it takes a donation from somebody with a colony from their tank at home. i like the ideas coming on this thread. we have less than a month to figure this out and this thread will help the officers tremendously

I would be more than happy to donate. The only problem is most of my frags are just now becoming mini colonies. So I’m prolly a year away….

I do know some of the colonies that we have fragged in the past have turned out to be some awesome corals.I miss my mint green and pink acro we cut up a few years ago.I know we had a hot pink and red chalice with orange eyes we have cut up.We have had several nice zoa colonies as well.I have never had any luck keeping a leather alive so I am still a noob in that category.I do know that Scott has never steered the club wrong on the colonies he's got for us to buy.

Kevin does have a good idea but it would be kind of like a group buy on a coral.

This money will help with the raffle items as well.I think we should have plenty of items for all who come.

I got a very nice surprise in the mail from United Pet Groups over the weekend! Youll have to wait for more details on this little jewel tho

Have we decided what corals are going to be fragged yet? The next meeting is coming up quick! Really looking forward to it. Do we just pay our $5 at the drive?

I don't know the exact corals that we will be getting. I will leave that up to Scott. In all the years doing this I have NEVER been disappointed in the corals.I talked to Scott last night and apparently some of the wild colonies are getting harder to get.I always loved getting a coral that I had no idea what it was and seeing what it turned into.Anyone remember the neon green acro with pink tips we got a few years ago?How about the Leeds acro?As for the 5$ you can bring that to the meeting.I was going to to it at the last meeting but we got so busy with our group discussion I forgot.Whatever we get just know its worth the 5 bucks I assure you,
