Marine Betta and a Puffer?

I was wondering if a Marine Betta and a Canthigaster type puffer can coexsit? I know that the Canthigaster type puffers are somewhat prone to fin nip, but do you think it would mess with a Marine Betta?

I believe it would; Marine Betta are quite passive much like a lionfish, only eating what fits in their mouth and ignoring all else.

Thanks Ed, but Canthigaster aren't really bad fin nippers are they? I guess it depends on the puffers personality. Which of the Canthigaster Puffers would you recommend with a Marine Betta?

That genus is notorious for fin nipping, I really wouldn't mix any puffer with a Betta.

Grunts, hawkfish, Anthias, some wrasse species, dwarf angels and other like fish families are best with a Betta.

Thanks Ed. I thought it wasn't a good idea to mix the Canthigaster type puffers with a Marine Betta. I guess it's back to the drawing broad.

Hehe...Ranks up there with the "ballsy...stupid, but ballsy" I swear Canthigasters are sweet one moment then have some sort of fin addiction.

I try not to project too many human behaviors onto my fish but watching a canthigaster w' tankmates and watching someone try to quit smoking (or anything addictive) just looks too much alike....

LOL... you can almost say they look like old men trying to chase and goose some young women at a bar. LOL :D
