Marine Betta Compatibility

I feel like I need one more fish that is a "show fish" because w my current stock it looks kinda empty aside from my center piece. There's times when I only see the Idol swimming around (everyone kinda hides at certain times) :angryfire:.I want to get a marine betta, I think they're pretty but low key enough to not take away swimming space from my Idol. I am concerned for my inverts and smaller fish, I currently have:
Fish:
1 Med Moorish Idol
1 Small Tomini Tang
1 Med BiColor Angel
3x Lyretail Anthia
1 L Squareback Anthia
1 L Melanarus Wrasse
2x Chalk Bass
1 Pseudochromis
1 3" Ocellaris Clown
Inverts:
2 Blood red shrimp
3 Scarlet Cleaners
1 CoralBanded Shrimp

I read that they have left cleaners alone, but Im interested in peoples experience w them in reefs & overall. Or suggestions to alternatives Med sized fish compatible w my stock list.

They are beautiful fish. But they tend to hide. My reef tanks have always had lots and lots of rock and I have usually had a marine betta as part of my fish collection. They are the kind of fish that you may only see once every couple of weeks.

But when they come out they are beautiful fish.

I lost some peppermint shrimps over the years to them but never saw them bother any other fish, and I like lots of small fish in my tanks.

My Betta stays under overhangs and in caves but not really behind the rocks. I can always see it, even when it's "hiding".
Don't think it has eaten anything from the tank, shrimps or fish.
Really pretty fish, but def not a show piece...

i have had 2, they are great.....if you have open rock work and DON'T spot feed him he will be viewable and not hide!

I have mine for over 10 years. First years hide a lot. Shy feeder that never bother any fish like neon goby or clowns... Only destroyed a second betta attempt.... In last few years become boulder and spend a lot of time rovering searching for pellets when feeding my angels and tangs... For me a sure go ahead fish choice.

Mine sits under his rock cliff where I can see him and is super friendly, eats from my hand. I have shrimp and he doesn't bother them but I do keep him well fed with silversides etc.

I had one in my reef a couple times before just because of the sheer look of them. Very beautiful fish. Don't expect to show it off to anyone because you will rarely see it out in the open. I didn't have any issues with it messing with big shrimp but if I were you, I'd chalk up any shrimp that it can fit in its mouth, food.

I agree with this post. Mine stays under caves and overhangs as well.
I havent noticed it eating any of my shrimps either.
