Marine Betta???

I was just curious is there anyone who keeps a marine betta in their reef tanks??? I know that they won't bother corals but will eat smaller fish and ornamental shrimp. I'd just like to get an idea of who keeps them and how they've done for you, negatives and positives.... Thanks....

We all know they're gorgeous but is it really a fish that will be visable in the aquarium with less boisterous tank mates? Looking for some positives with this fish besides the obvious.

Jdbrine I hope you don't mind.

I have one in my reef tank with anthias, wrasses, firefish, and a lone clown. I've had it for about 2.5 years and it's a perfect reef citizen (I keep an urchin for algae control, inverts get eaten by one of the wrasses).

I've posted in a number of threads about them, a quick search will yield numerous results but if you have any specific questions just ask.

I was talking about these to someone yesterday. He has an 8ft tank and has had one for years. The other fish are tangs and big wrasse and it doesn't seem bothered by them. He did mention it was very secretive and that it only really started becoming bolder when he added another. They don't hang around together and are at different ends of the tank, but still adding it affected the other.
The only other thing he mentioned was that he has to feed from tongs because of the other more aggressive feeders.

i had one in a reef tank for years. never ate any inverts that I could tell. other fish did not bother him. He just hung out in a cave the whole time. The only draw back I had was he would only eat chunks of meat held in front of him with a rair of tongs. never ate any other food.

i picked up my guy about a month ago and hes in my reef with a tennenti tang and a foxface and hes a great fish, very peaceful always out and very active and dosent look twice at my emerald crabs
