Hello all 300DD + Marineland stock stand owners....need your opinions.

I am thinking of getting this, but my only concern is that the stand may look too low.

Is it high enough in your opinion? Do you have to bend down to properly see your livestock?

Any input would be highly appreciated.

I have the stock stand. I don't know about having to bend down to see the livestock, but we have a couch right by the aquarium. The bigger concern is if you use an in-sump skimmer, there isn't a lot of room for a good sized one, or to maintain it. My skimmer is outside of the sump, so not a concern for me.

I don't have this tank but even seeing it on display at a LFS they have it on the stock stand plus risers. It sits way too low to enjoy.

Would it be possible to buy the stock stand and build a riser for it somehow? If so, does anyone have an recommendations on how to go about building a riser?

I was at a show. I talked to a Marineland rep about the issue of the low height of their stand. He said they did that so people could get the stand through a door. He said one could always build a riser. I guess you would cut the floor out of the stand. You would then build something like a 6" riser with its own floor and place the stand on top of it.

I built a riser for a buddy worked out great it's was kinda like a cradle the stand sat down into the riser in the end it just looked like a trimmed out stand I'm looking for a picture to post
