Marineland 300 gallon silicone uneven on sides... is that a problem?

Someone mentioned to me that when the silicone is not equal and squishing out of the glass it could be a potential for a failure. On the front right corner when facing the tank, the silicone is uneven up and down the seam. It appears to be at least double thickness towards the bottom of the vertical seam vs the top.

Just so on the other side on the very bottom the silicone is thin, just above it thicker, and then the rest of the way up thin as well.

Have been trying to get a good pic but it is very difficult to see it through the pictures I have gotten.

Also when running my finger down the outside left corner, I can feel the glass panes are even at this corner and the lower I go I feel the thickness so it is definitely not even all the way down.

Does anyone if this is true, that thickness discrepancies in silicone on glass tanks could lead to failure?

Are you talking thickness between the glass or just in the way the caulk is finished as to the width from where the glass mates together?

Thickeness between where the glass mates together is uneven. The upper half is thin like the rest of the sides, but the lower part that thinness is thicker between where the two pieces of glass mate together , there is also more caulk/ silicone but my worry is that the seam is not consistent all the way down

Just felt it again- the top is flush/ smooth between the two panes. When you movie a finger down towards the bottom, it is no longer flush and one feels a little more forward, so that you can feel the edge of the front pane of glass sticking out more than the side where as at the top Half of the seam, it feels even

I wouldn't accept that tank at all. Where did you purchase it? Have them get Marineland to replace it or contact Marineland direct.

From an lfs. I was there when it arrived with a moving van (was told to be there so they could just put it from the truck to the van easily. The guy working at the store inspected it for like 30 seconds (it was still in cardboard) and I was checking the tank and after about 10 minutes the delivery guy said he needs to get going.
I had the guy from the store look at it again and he said it was fine, this sucks but at least it was caught before it was filled.

I'm hoping they just switch it out at my house and bring a new one there, cause 423 lbs is not an easy move, plus I would need to rent a moving van again

Luckily it's still empty

And can I ask, should the plastic rim be flush all the way around? On three sides of the tank it is, and on the one side in question there is a gap. I asked this to the guy at the store and he said it was fine. Could this be a problem as well?

Here's a pic of the bad side where the gap is

Here is the other side- not sure if you can see the difference in the pics but on the bad side there is a gap and a lot less silicone vs the other side where there is no gap

And tried again to show the silicone differing in width but it's really hard to get a pic

Also if it is only aesthetic I don't care, the only thing I care about is its strength/ integrity- could these issue affect that?

Contacted the lfs, sent pics and explained what was going on. They just said to take it up with marineland ... So I guess I'll be writing marineland an email
