While this product has been around for a year or more I thought I'd go over it's usefullness.
This is a simple reminder utility that reads out in LCD display and can be attached to the side of your tank. The cost ($8.99 That Pet Place) is low enough for me to give it a try.
Out of the box you simply pull out the clear plastic strip used to avoid contact with the batteries to the contacts. Under one of those batteries is also a small paper blocker (don't forget this, it wasn't mentioned in the instructions LOL). The initial reading of the LCD display was garbled until I reset it a few times by removing the batteries and replacing the cover.
The settings are fairly simplistic:
Date Time
Change Filter Cartridge 00-199days
Clean Gravel Bed 00-199days
Partial Water Change 00-199days
Filter Maintenance 00-199days
Option 1 00-199days
Option 2 00-199days
The option areas are simple, write down on the provided adhesive strips what it pertains to and program in when you want to do it. It basically counts down for you when things (ideally) need attention. It then sounds off a beeping signal when time is up but I'm not sure for how long, to remind you. Each task is counted down for you. The maximum allowable countdown time was from 199 days.
For me it's a godsend. Working 7 days a week 10-12 hour days sometimes, and also school thrown in there, I can't always make a reminder for myself when this or that task needs to be attended to. For the cost it's a great investment and affords me some peace of mind.
