Marineland Cube issues

Is this something I can fix or should I replace the tank. Or should I not worry about it. All 4 vertical seams have micro bubbles. Tank is a 93 marineland reef ready rimless cube.

If I need to replace, what do you recommend for tank manufacturers

That's some serious bubbles. I would be hesitant to use that tank, especially with all the failures that have been happening with DD tanks on this forum.

I used to have the exact same tank and it had bubbles in the seams as well. From what I've seen, it's fairly common with Marineland's rimless cubes (Especially the 93.) Mine wasn't nearly as bad as yours, though, and it was mostly near the top part of the tank. I had the tank for over 2 years and never had an issue, but I was constantly checking to see if any of the bubbles were getting larger. I think if they used 1/2" glass instead of 3/8" it wouldn't happen.

Same with my 93, I just live with it.

What manufacturers do you recommend

That really depends on where you live and what's available in your area. If you have a local club forum they may have some suggestions.

In my area it seems that Crystal Dynamics is the recommended brand. I have a LeeMar tank and the rumor is that Crystal Dynamics has the folks who used to build for LeeMar. If you notice that they're only a few miles from LeeMar and their tanks look identical, it makes sense. I'm not sure how far from California you are, but if I was to buy a new one, I'd seriously consider Crystal Dynamics.

I have a marineland 60g rimless cube. I guess I got lucky, the seams were ugly, had to clean up drips and drops of silicon, but there's no bubbles.

I'd certainly send those photos to Marineland and see what they have to say about it.

I bought it secondhand, did not see bubbles until I filled the tank up.

They ignore every post in their sponsor forum here.

Abort mission lol. I have seen so many posts regarding this same issue on the 93g cube. I will never touch a marineland tank.

Top left seam on front moves a bit with pressure. Looking into a Red Sea 425xl to replace it

I had a 93 gallon cube too. It never failed but those bubbles worried me, so I got rid of it. Actually... Marineland gave me full refund.

i have a marineland 60 cube, there's some tiny bubbles at the top, but they actually got better over time and doesn't really concern me much.

are those bubbles actually under where the glass meets, or next to it? It almost looks like next to the joint, which might be harmless.

sounds like you're goin with another tank anyway!

They are under the glass

it's not completely across it though is it? like just on one half of the glass?

the glass is usually slightly beveled on the edges, so something tells me the bubbles are where that bevel is.

I was on my phone before and couldn't really tell how bad the first post was. The OP's tank is horrible. My 93 has 1/16" wide x .5" long bubbles at the top.

LXXero - on another forum there is a long thread about this issue and as long as the bubbles were minor, over time they went away for a lot of people. People with tanks like in the first post almost always got them replaced. Marineland will take them back no questions asked.
You would think with multiple threads on multiple sites they would get to the bottom of the issue and resolve it.

Ahh, interesting. To be honest, I almost ALWAYS prefer aqueon over marineland, but aqueon doesn't make rimless cubes, and it's about what I can actually get delivered sometimes.

FWIW, my tank's got a manufacturing date of feb 2016, so it was made this year. I suspect the fact it's newer may not be a bad thing.

The top of mine sounds about like yours, although it doesn't even go all the way across just partially, maybe 1/16" like you said. When i first filled the tank, it looked like it got bigger, but over time it's gone back to where it was, it seems to have settled out. I'm not concerned unless I saw the width changing, but it's no where near as bad as this guys, i will admit. I'm surprised they'd let it off the factory with bubbles all throughout it like that.
