Marineland Deep Dimension aquariums

I saw an ad in a magazine a while back for the Marineland Marine series Deep Dimension aquariums. At 36" front to back, that sounds like the aquarium for me! I was wondering if anyone has one, or has heard any feedback about them?

The new tanks look impressive. Marineland really upped the perfecto line from what it was when they took over!! I like the new tanks!! even thought of getting one myself.

two of our local reefers got them, they are very well built and look great.one got a 6x3 3 side starphire peninsula, the other a 5x3 3 side starphire regular setup.

did you happen to notice what size plumbing it's drilled for?

i believe they will custom drill them to your specs.both of the tanks i have seen are drilled for four 2" bulkheads.

Exactly what I've heard.

However, since I've yet to see one in person, will the smallest (36" by 36" by 27" with the single overflow) have enough room inside the overflow box for a 2" standpipe?

Thanks

That 36" one is freaking sweet. I think a 2" would fit, here is a 1.5" on a center overflow this is from someone at 3reef (ardo_ski) you can try asking him for more specifics:

There's also someone on the CORA forum here that has gone through 2 of these already both defective. The first one was really bad and the second had a big chip.

both of the tanks our local guys got,had no overflows boxes built in and they had them custom made.im not sure if that was standard or not.

I have the 72"X36"X27. Very happy with it the only complain i have is that the stand sits a little low. I had my carpenter raise the stand about 10" much better!!!!

The reason the stands are low is because they wount fit through residental doors if they are any taller, but yes i agree they are low. I have a 3' cube, once you go deep dimension you will never go back to any tank that is 2' deep no matter how long it is. the one thing i wish i knew about is you can order any size holes and any pane starfire.. takes 4-5 weeks. its stock with a 1" and a 3/4" hole or two 1" holes i forget.

I know why they are short. They have to fit in most doors. They should make a second stand kit to raise the cabinet other then that no complaints.

I just paid off the 150 cube (36"x36x27). I'll be picking it up on Thursday this week. It only has one corner overflow. I custom made a diy stand. Luckystrike is correct, a stand with any larger dimensions won't fit through doors. I have to assemble mine near the final location in the basement instead of in the garage like I like doing.

I saw the canopy and stand in the store this week and the canopy is too short for metal halides and the stand is very short however they look SICK! A nice touch of modern black. The canopy can easily handle t5/vho/other flouros are a go. By the looks of it the canopy was less than 8" tall.. but just a guess.

Thanks to sevenkillers who measured his before I made the decision not to go with their setup for the tank, the stand has an inside height of 26" and canopy has 9" of clearance. They are very nice looking though.

sorry for the triple post, but I found more info!
