MarineLand Reef LED fixture

Anybody have any experience with the Marineland Reef LED light? or any opinion on it? I am setting up a 150g in wall 72"long and 25" deep, looking to start off with some anemones, xenia, polyps and possibly graduate to other corals. Not trying to brake the bank with electricity or changing bulbs every year. They had a 3ft light on a tank at my lfs and it looked pretty good, nice shimmer effect. Pic was taken from my phone.

one of my lfs's sells them the other swears entirely against are them. they say they just arent enough to successfully grow your corals and anemones... I dont know if he's just trying to sell me on his fixtures or not but this is what I've heard

IMHO try to use fixtures with 3watt leds like Cree. Do it right the 1st time around, save you some money! DIY! (if you can't afford a nice fixture) Not too dis MarineLand but IMO that fixture isn't quite up to alot of reefers standards to say the least and i'm a big fan of MarineLand. That 24gallon nano in that pic is also not nearly as deep as 25" I have one and it's roughly 15"-16" deep if you go BB.

I agree, I am only running a 54g but I bought cheap LEDs to start and put myself at least six months behind where i should have been....

I recommend lots of research. I went with Orphek LEDs and have been doing great since then.

where did you get them from? I seen a thread on here talkin about reefkoi ones from ebay, they looked nice from the pics submitted.

Premium Aquatics has them, Awesome led fixture, great for depth! Premium Aquatics has alot of good led fixtures available you just have to do your research, going rate on an Orphek is $850, AI or Aqua Illumination is $629 per module. Check out Vertex as well and run multiple units would be sweet

I got them from Orphek before they were released but now you can get them from a few different locations on the internet. I highly recommend them. I think I am going to be upgrading to the PR156 from them as well. I am really impressed with them. Good products and good quality.

orphek fixture is a good product seen a tank with one, as far as the marineland led... ya dont go that route unless you want a fish only tank or something they just wont cut it, i currently run a cree fixture on my 29 gal they are very nice, do the research you can find what you want and MD carries the orphek as well as a couple other places the light was designed to grow sps at decent depths in the aquarium and it does a good job but lots of led's to choose from now a days

I have one, and I love it. My softies are doing great and it has been over a year. I have a 75 gallon tank. One of my mushrooms is 10 inches across and beautiful.
