Maritime Aquarium Behind the Scenes Tour

I've been speaking with the gentleman who oversees the reef and shark tanks at the Norwalk aquarium and he has offered to do a private tour for the club.

He said he would be able to show us the support areas and the different components of the systems. Along with a shark feeding demonstration and an octopus enrichment demonstration.

He said to keep the tours easy for him and best for us to view and get involved, we would have to limit this to 30 people. He would be able to do two separate tours. The tours would be done on two Sundays between 10 am and 1pm.

The price of admission would be a regular ticket, adults are 19.95 and free to aquarium members.

I have not set up a date yet as I want to get an idea as to how many people are interested. Right now this open to CTARS members only, after we have a count we can open up to family members.

I will bring a sign up sheet to the next meeting and keep a running sheet as people express interest.

Thanks for reading.

I'd be interested in doing this but can't always make the meetings can I sign up for it on here?

Of course Gabe. I was going to keep a running list of people who want to come. Like I said, going to see how much interest there is and then set a date that hopefully works for everyone.

I am def in but I will have to pay membership to this club I do not think it is fair that I take part in these activities and do not pay member enrolment.

We are always looking for new members, it will be a great time. I went on this tour 5 years ago and had a blast, but had no knowledge of reef tanks. This time around would be a great experience.

I'd love to also! I took a behind the scenes way back with an old club ARC and had a great time. When we talk about skimmer size, they can dwarf it easily!
