Maroon and False Perc question

I have a adult maroon, and a baby false perc. I'm upgrading to a 120 gal tank, and I'm wondering if I put them in at the same time, will they get along? I tried to introduce the perc after the maroon in my 50, but the maroon ran the perc down the overflow. Anyone have advice to offer?

I think there's a very good chance the maroon will kill the false perc, then there is a very small chance the maroon will pair up w/ the perc (there's a thread somewhere on here about a strange paring much like a maroon/perc)... imo, there's very little chance the two will co-exist peacefully.

My friend has a tomatoe mated pair in a 120 with a clarkii .they stick to there seperate corners and live fine together . Im hoping I can also achieve this in a 180 with a mated maroon and perc pair .

Well, I'll just have to keep the perc's tank set up till I see how they will react. I really hope they will get along, but I'll be prepared for the worst. Thanks for the advice.
