maroon and percs

I have a pair of percs in my 215 and a friend has a white stripped maroon that he wants to get rid of. Well they get along and do I need to get another maroon so there will be 2 pairs. Thanks in advance

i dont know. with that size of a tank, it might work or it might not. you probably should not get another marroon though.

Engine8ff - No, they will not get along. Maroons are very aggressive and it will spar with the perculas. In a tank that size they may stick to their side and out of each others way but there will still be tension. I would not advise it.

oh, i wasnt asking how big his tank was, i was saying that with that size of a tank, it might work.

Now that you edited it I see what you where saying and I do agree with you that he should not get another maroon. A pair of them would be even more aggressive and territorial then a single one.

Thanks everyone. He is about the size of my female perc. I do have a nice frag tank if things dont work out. I may just pass.
