maroon clown disappearing ???

i had a maroon clown for about 4 days, the 1st day it went into the BTA and fell in love with it , after about the 6th day i never saw it, looked all over, floor,sump,tank,overflow, no clown.
would the anemone have eaten it for some reason ?
i herd it wouldn't have unless it died ?
any other ideas

Sometimes the anenome does eat the clown. how big are both?

they are both medium sized the clown maybe 1" long, at night the anemone was smaller of course, but i never saw the clown, when i did you could barely see the clown in it.
i'm totally baffled.
i picked up a perc tonight for $10.00, so i'll see what happens now.
