hey if i was to order 2 small maroon clowns would they be fine together. other than a clean up crew thats all that would be in there right now. i figure they would be but i thought i would ask anyhow

No, I would doubt that. If they were different sizes yes, but two of the same size iwll never work well. They will fight for leadership and dominance. I would suggest buying a large maroon and a small one, preferably half or less than half the size of the bigger one. That way the larger one will clearly be the dominant female and the smaller male will automatically surrender.

Those maroon pairs they have on LA are ORA true breeding pairs. I must warn you that they will be old and huge, but do not worry about agression within the pair.

My LFS just got a pair of the maroons retired from ORA...the female has to be 6+" and probably 5+pounds. I've never seen a bigger clownfish. The male would be regular female maroon size. Of course, 26 years in captivity will do that to fish(that's how long the pair my LFS got were breeding in captivity, making them at least 28 years old...LA should be able to give you a lineage on the pair you buy). They are the most docile fish I've seen and if you buy those pairs from LA, you will have tons less to worry about due to aggression. But, the drawback is that they may not be around for much longer...noone really knows the life expectancy of clownfish.

I actually just went to ORA last week and we had a good discussion on why they were cleaning out some pairs...seems they were just overstocked...they ended up getting rid of something like 52 pairs or something near that.
