Maroon Clown mate?

I have had the same maroon clown for almost 2 years now. She has grown nicely and is one of my favorite fish. My question is: I would like to find a mate for her or get another mated pair of clowns. Are there any suggestions out there?

The current set up is a 75 gallon w/ about 150+ lbs of live rock. The maroon really only stays in 1/2 of the aquarium and does not go past the mid point or too far from her RBTA (5 inches to be exact). What are your thoughts on getting a second BTA for the other 1/2 of the tank and a mated pair of clowns?

Or would I be better off just trying to find a mate for her? I did try this once, but she killed the new clown in about 5 minutes flat before I could remove it. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I would think you would have better luck trying to find her a mate as opposed to adding another pair of clowns. Even in a 75 gallon. I would buy a much smaller clown, introduce it in the tank in 1 of those breeder traps until your currnt clown gets used to it...just a thought, hope this helps.

Never thought of that. You've got my wheels turning:) I'm thinking that if I do opt to get a mate for her as opposed to a new pair, I might have to work with the LFS on this one to notify me when they get a new maroon clown shipment in from ORA. But still a bit on the fence about getting another pair.

Went to the LFS yesterday and I was in luck! They had a shipment of 6 baby maroons from ORA in! I couldn't resist myself, so I got two of the little guys and a 2 gallon Eclipse Explorer 2 to house them in QT and until I can catch and rehome my current Maroon.
