Aside from the obivous?

Gold stripes have bright yellow (gold) stripes. The white stripe has white stripes...

The gold stripes are gorgeous. I'm debating getting those instead of nemos.

I now that much but I have Maroon Clown with touch of yellow not full yellow so dos the strip change as they get older or do I have whit strip Maroon Clown only asking because I want to buy it mate.

Yeah, gold stripes can be white when young and turn yellow with age. White stripes stay white.

Last? For you or any one if you don’t mind me asking I seen white strip with skinning strips and yellow with wider strips is this a another way to tell them a part?

So if yellow strip has white strips when it’s younger how do you now what l
Kind of maroon clown fish you are getting?

Ask the store you bought it from. Gold stripes tend to be more expensive so the store might know.

I was looking @ 2nd hand one and the one at the store has white strips and they got it for yellow strip price and there say it a baby witch is fine I want smaller one I just done want the white strip one

the stripes turn yellow after about a year. If they say it's a yellow stripe and it turns out not to be, take it back to them.

Ok here the thing with that I just started there and don't want to **** the boss off but its small town pet store and I would like a mate for my larger maroon clown

but thanks for the help

In order to make your own mated pair try to get a larger size gold stripe (if that is what you have) because the large ones are female and the smaller ones tend to be male.

You definitely want to get a small clown if you already have a maroon, and keep it in a specimen container until the established maroon no longer tries to kill it. Maroons can be tricky to pair.

If the pet store says it's a gold stripe, you'll have to trust him. And if it turns out to be a white stripe, take it back or at least demand the difference be paid back. I don't think you'll make the boss angry. Besides, you'll only find out if it's not a gold stripe months from now, so you won't be a new customer then. The owner should understand and offer to exchange the fish if it is sold as something it isn't. Keep the receipt if you're really worried.
