Maroon Clowns

Have two Maroon Clowns for 4mths now, have been waiting on lights to get some type of anemone.

I just purchased a Long tentacle, and a Sebae.
I was hoping clowns would host in these instead of just waiting to find a BTA.

Give me your input, can this match be made!

Let me know.

Give it some time. I tried a sebae with my maroons, it took a bit for them to take to it. Unfortuatly for me the sebae wasn't too happy when they did come. I ended up trading it out for a much larger BTA and it took about 5 minutes in the tank for the clowns to take to it.

question: Won't all those anemones eventually wage a little chemical warfare with each other?

I run carbon, plus I have them in a 90 gallon tank. they are not near each other either. I will try to post a pic or so later.

Is there a one anemone per tank rule?

I wasnt aware, if I am doing damage please let me know, I will bring them back to the LFS if so.

I'm no expert, but I did hear you should only have one type of anemone from somewhere, maybe here.

Just because they are apart now doesn't mean they won't decide to move around and then fight over the sweet spots in the tank later. As far as their release of toxins, I don't know what it can do to the rest of the tank inhabitants but I'm guessing its not good.

Anyone else a little clearer on the subject?

Your Maroons will Host the LTA...I just had to get rid of my Large Female Maroon because she ws trying to Hard/Being too aggressive with my new lta..She wanted to host the Lta but wouldnt give it time to settle into my Display...Be patient and the Maroons will host...
