Marty gone from Planet Reef

Made phone call today to contact Marty, and was informed no longer working with them.

I was told he was offered a good position with AT&T. Good luck Marty! Those guys seem to know business and I'm sure it will be a transparent reorganization from the consumer side.

I thought he owned/part of it? Has the place progressed from a month or so ago?

I think it has progressed. They've begun taking fish out of their quarantine warehouse and all tanks are up and running.

IMO, another month of cycling and stocking and they'll be set. I think Steve was mentioning some SPS coming in soon. Also, I believe there's a coral shipment coming in Saturday. I think it's all finally coming together.

Yeah, now that I re-read that it does sound a little snappy huh?

Sorry about that. Who knew where this thread could have gone. Just didn't think it'd be right to discuss another person's personal decision as everyone has their own opinion.

He is a good guy, but I think things will continue well for the store.

I hope Marty got the job and I hope he enjoys it. It makes me sad because he worked so many long days getting the store set up and he won't witness the fruits of his labor.

????? I thought he owned it??? From all of the previous posts/threads-did he not own it? Not that it matters-but previous threads made it sound like he was the owner and it seems weird that a store owner would just up and leave and take a job with the devil and not see his/her hard work pay off? I hope the store does well

I was there this week and they still have better prices than any other lfs in this area. They will be my main lfs to visit when looking for corals or fish if they keep their prices low. Steve is very nice and is doing a great job.
