Yet another alga from my refu, does anybody recognize it?

Don't recognize it. Is it really a red/green combo as it appears? I've had a few reds turn green as they died off. Have you had it long?

Really neat macro. I want one! I must be getting bored with the same old Atlantic species.

Yes, it looks exactly as shown on the picture . It appeared about a month ago on the rock and there are no signs of dieoff. It looks very much like one I posted here earlier under #9 (on the previous page and also below), except those amazing colors!

Henn, it looks like a Hypnea species. Not positive though. I had H. pannosa and if I looked at it from above it would be a dark purple, but from the side it would look blue.

Thanks OCEANUS, looks like a Hypnea valentiae indeed.

Below is a detailed picture, note that all the blue and green hues are lost when taken out from water.
