Mata tang

I've never heard of a mata tang until today when I saw one at my LFS. He was about 3-4" long and a beautiful fish! I asked an employee if she knew anything about them and what tank size. She told me they can be in a 90-100 gallon tank if kept with a reasonable amount of other livestock and a 125-180 if kept with a lot of other livestock....sound right? And what do they look like when they get older, do they stay blue with the stripes? I have a 90 gallon, that's unstocked.

So any experience with these fish?

Unfortunately they get really big. Max TL on FB is 50cm, which is about 20". Even if it only gets a fraction of that, you are looking at a 1 foot long fish. Yikes, just too big.

They get huge. I guess I would not listen to that LFS employee on fish recommendations.
