Matted filefish (Acreichthys tomentosus) with SPS

I have been researching Acreichthys tomentosus for a reef tank. I know that there will always be a possibility of one of these guys eating any coral but it seems that most of the aquarium experience suggests they are mainly a risk to LPS corals and clams.

Does anyone have any experience with Acreichthys tomentosus eating their SPS or soft corals?

Thanks.

I did notice mine nipping at a monti cap when it was initially put in the display. This only lasted a day or two and he doesn't bother any of my SPS now that I have noticed. He does enjoy micro brittlestars and eats nassarius snails like popcorn. :)

Thank you very much for the info. I didn't think about the nassarius snails - I'll leave them out of my CUC.

Rabidgoose, do you have any soft coral in the tomentosus display? Any issues?

It is an SPS tank but I do have some z/p's that have volunteered from previous endeavors and he hasn't bothered any of those that I have noticed. I have no fleshy LPS or clams in the tank. A bad pic.........

Thanks for the info. So I guess at this point, I should call it a toss up with SPS and LPS. I'll have to find out about softies. Guttungen, did you have any soft corals in your tomentosus tank?
