Matt's 12 Gallon Fluval Edge

I figured I'd put this up as I've been planning it for 6 months now. I had to take down my 120 gallon reef as well as my 6 gallon fluval edge, so this is a downgrade, but I figured I'd make it as awesome as possible. It's a 12 gallon fluval edge with a functional overflow and locline return. I also constructed the sump and stand.

Setup:
12 gallon fluval edge
10 gallon custom sump
nanocustom's fluval edge LED light
sump contains 4" filter sock
two little fishies reactor (for 120 gallon tank)
6 gallon fuge section
6 red cree LED custom light for fuge
1200 maxijet return
both sizes of nano korallias (until I buy a MP10)

Here's a picture of my 120 gallon with my rock wall 20H equipped with a Kessil, breeder tank. They were plumbed together.

No need to get depressed haha i think your 12g is pretty sweet why do you have to hide it do you live in a dorm? Also what are your stocking planes.

Why wouldnt you put a sump on a 12g more water is always better well at least i think so and it hides ugly equipment like heater, reactor, skimmer, etc also it allows you to have a bigger fuge.

Then whats the point of a Nano? Just asking questions...

Normally people have nanos because it is the best option for them at that time this is not the case for all but imo majority have them for this reason. A nano is not a competition to see who can have the smallest/least amount of water its about making a small tank look great and be successful all a sump does is optimise your chance of sucess it also allows more wiggle room in case of an accident such as death of fish or dead anemone. I think a sump is a great addition to any tank just because you have a sump on a nano dosent not make it a nano but there is a point were a line must be drawn i saw a guy that had a 200g sump on a 28g tank and that is not a typo.

There you go, now you got 3. Hehehehehe
Love the tank. Love the custom hidden tv looking armoire stand. Love the big fuge. Love the reactor. Love the ATO. Love the fuge light. Hate, I Hate, I says I hate the lock line! You did such a great job with hiding every piece of ugly yet needed life support. But that lock line Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I know you need to direct the water flow in the tank but there has to be a better way than to use the lock line.

But really good work and have fun in college.

Thanks guys.

Currently the tank has plenty of coral and a few maximinis. As far as fish, I have 2 ocellaris clowns. In the sump I have a pistol shrimp and a brittle star. There is also a clean of crew of various snails and emerald crabs.

I needed to hide my tank because they only allow a 1 gallon tank where I'm going. Plus, the cabinet height is perfect for a tv on top.

I like the locline, I know the colors aren't that great, but I love the ability of changing the flow around.
