Matt's Tubastrea/Purple Queen Anthias 200g

he biggest problem I have in here is keeping up with hydroid growth. Can't find anything that will eat them and the constant feeding makes them grow pretty good.
Have you tried Paul B's zapper yet?

It might also be usefull for the aiptasia tank, a couple tanks to the right :D

Cool you're volunteering! For whom? I don't work on Sundays usually but will probably run into you at some point.
For Rich Ross, But I have time on saturdays too. So I may end up volunteering both Saturdays and Sundays.

If you are volunteering for Rich, I expect you to be setting up a Sepia bandensis by the time you are done! I hear there are some eggs hatching shortly

That thing looks cool! Don't even get me started on the Aip tank...all I can say is that I don't take care of it! The hydroids come out pretty easily with siphoning, but they grow fast. I curse whatever rock I put in there that introduced them...

That'd be cool! Rich and I share a brain, so just let him know if you want to start helping out on Saturdays. Or let me know via email.

Matt, the system is progressing beautifully.

How is the public feedback of the system? and what is the biggest challenge of keeping a public azoox display?

Mike

Hi Matt, I had a question for you also, if you don't mind....do you guys do anything different to keep the sponges? Any special foods? Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thanks Mike.

People like it a lot. Lots of photos, oohs and aahs. More importantly, my boss is impressed by it. ;)

Only challenge with it being public is keeping the front glass clean of fingerprints and such. The fish completely ignore the guests.

I started feeding my fish Capelin roe from Ranch 99 like you mentioned before in another thread. They go absolutely insane for it and my rhyzo grabs a fair amount as well.

Whats the over all volume of the system?

The tank itself is 200g (36" cube), the sump is a 90g tank half filled.

With the piping, autofeeder, and skimmer I'll say around 260g-ish.

It used to have a 40g tank connected to it (the small tank to the left of it from the public side) but that has been taken offline with its own LSS.
