Max-Jet Tunze Stream Mod.

Anyone local who hasn't received a kit should infact receive their kits on Monday.

Those whom wanted kits that I missed at the meeting on Friday should receive their kits by Tuesday.

Thanks,

- Matt

If the mail department does not make a mistake, I should be getting mine this afternoon. I'll let you know later on!

Andy, (bond007069)

Your PM box is full.

I just sent payment early this morning for 4 of the mods. They should go out today or tomorrow. I will probably receive them in 2-3 days if not sooner. I will let you guys know as soon as they show up and maybe get some pics/vid of the performance.

BTW, I have been talking to him a lot lately and he seems like a good guy. They had some initial problems and then his real business took him away from being at the meeting. I still trust him and that's why I ordered today. If things don't go well I will be sure to post that also to save you guys any trouble.

For now I am a trusting person and Matt seems trustworthy to me.

Everyone that owns a maxi-jet 1200 and are not the DIYer types, should get a hold of Lutz493. His modification to the maxi-jet is awesome. It is very easy to put together, took less than 5-minutes.
The flow in the tank now is amazing, before the mod the stream was just a straight line, didn't do much. Now the stream is large and moves all the water in my 30 gal tank.

Lutz493 thanks for the mod. it was well worth the wait. In fact, I would like a few more. I'll PM you later on today.

Got mine in the mail Saturday. WOW! Was impressed right away just by the way the mod was made. It is very professional looking. Everything fit together nice and smooth. Took me maybe five minutes to dry off the Maxi and refit it with this mod. WOW again.

I tested the maxi jet in my refugium to see how it pushed the macro and stuff around then did the mod and tried it. The difference in flow is amazing, I mean truly amazing. This thing would shoot water in a real wide flow right out of the tank.

I Put it in the 150 after scraping the glass and some other cleaning chores (had a little Southdown fog in the water) and I could watch the flow from the mod shoot from the corner of the back of the tank to the center of the front glass and on towards the other back corner.

Impressed.

Thanks Matt
Ron

Your not the only broken impellar story I've heard. Hopefully you'll feel safe using the new one when he gets them ready ?
Erik

Hello -

Yeah, I've impellors going out this week to replace any that broke. About 1/2 dozen of these impellors broken in the very same spot out of a couple hundred. I made the new impellors even thicker at the base to ensure this doesn't happen.

This new impellor will perform much better then the old ones.

That really looks beefy. Good improvement
Question though, I no maxijets don't have brakes like tunzes pumps do, whats to stop them from sucking water in vs pushing it when there turn off and on. Its a 50 50 chance which way the impellar will spin.

Mine does vibrate alot, I too unplugged it and thought the Maxi was taking a dump. Any chance of getting a new one?
