Max-Jet Tunze Stream Mod.

The impellor pictured above is cut to have a built-in stopper so that it will always turn the proper direction.

The old impellors did not do this, the new ones do.

Newsalt - I plan on replacing all old impellors with new ones. I am sending out replacement impellors for broken ones today.

If there is an extra impellor in the batch I'll have it sent to you today, otherwise I won't have more available till the weekend.

Does this mean you need addresses from the people who have made purchases or do you still have them somewhere?
I only have had one out of the 4 that I bought that broke but I haven't run 2 of them yet.

The 2 that I did use seemed to vibrate a bit and made a humming noise but I have just been living with it.
I would like to have the new design so that when my new tanks are ready I don't have the last 2 break on me and then have to contact you. I can wait a week if you need time to get the second batch out in the mail. Please let me know your intentions.

Thanks,
-- Kevin

It seems the impellors that are going bad have come from the same batch. Perhaps the machine was off a setting and the bases were machined a little to thin causing the breaks.

That impellor is no-longer in use so any issues it had have been resolved with the new one. The impellor in the picture above I had CnC thread ground (I don't have this machine at my shop) so all the curvature and pitch (1.5) is exactly how it should be.

I'll send you impellors ITzme when I have more to send.

Anyone else with a bad impellor - Your replacements are already in the mail.

Thanks Matt. Thanks to for running the extra mile and replacing these impellers. It proves that the world still has a lot of good solid people running around on it.

Ok Matt,

Broke with in the first hour of use.

Andy -

I've put some pretty hard stress tests on those props to ensure their durability so I wouldn't need to worry about breaks. There are a large amount of these mods in peoples aquariums and of that less then 3% have broke. This is the first of the new impellors to break.

I'm going to need you to help me pin-point this problem.

If you would please, send me a detailed explanation of how your assembling the impellors, what you are using to assemble them.

or PM me at Lutz493 on here.

If it is easier for you, pass me your phone number and I'll give you a call that way.

Use the other prop on the mod kit that didn't break the old impellor.

You had the other impellor break. Is this the same pump/mod that broke the first impellor?

I'll fix/replace what needs to be to make sure the mods are working right, but something is causing the problem that I have obviously missed.

Newsalt1 and KTKreegs - Let me know how your mods are working now with the new impellors.

"Ok i pushed the stainless steel rod through the impellar and the magnet. Then i pushed on the end caps (two), then I align the inside of the impellar to come in rotation contact with the magnet portions. This way the imepllar and magnet spin in the same direction"

Later Andy

so do you have to keep plugging them in until they spin in the right direction, or do they ALWAYS throw water the right direction?

The impellors should spin proper with the cuts I made on them.

The breakage problems looks like it is coming from some of the props not sitting flush with the magnets. The holes inside the prop should be deep enough for the magnet/prop to sit flush with eachother. Its going to be a slightly tight fit at first, but they were made this way on purpose so a little extra push should get the 2 to meet together.

If they do not sit flush, then this will most likely result in the breakage.

Got mine up and running. So far it looks good.

The old impellor:
- When first starting it up it would rotate the wrong way.
- It would also make a lot of noise
- The flow was really awesome
- It died within a week
- Very easy to assemble

The new impellor:
- Every time I turned it off and on, the impelor always turned the right way
- The flow seems to be better than the last one.
- So far no noise, no noise even for the first start up
- The flow is great, I'd say a little better than the old impellor
- Very easy to assemble
- HOPEFULLY, I'm not back on this website in a week or so, to say anything bad about this product.

Matt, I believe you have a great product!

I have spoken with Matts dad, and his wife is having some serious pregnancy problems. I wish him the best Luck. His dad wants everybody to know that all orders will be filled. Any questions should be sent to Lutz493@zoominternet.net

Oh yea the RC mods have shut down his account. I think that just sucks:furious:

I wonder how long it will take for them to lock this thread?
