Maxi-Jet 1200 for mixing salt?

Wil a Maxi-Jet 1200 be sufficient for mixing salt in the standard 5 gallon oceanic buckets? thanks.

I use one to mix salt in my 40 gallon rubbermaid container. It will have pleanty of power.

yea it will work wonderfully.

like mentioned above, it could be used on tubs up to 50 gallons without a problem.

Just make sure the salt stays suspended

I actually use a Micro-Jet, and that's plenty for a 5g container, IME.

i use a 1200 with a venturi to mix mine 5 gals at a time. works great!

I am using a MJ400 and it works fine. A mj1200 would be fine.

FWIW, I used a MJ 1200 in a 32g bucket for a while. Sometimes the salt would settle in one little part of the bucket, but you just have to shake the cord of the pump (up and down usually works) and it will redirection itself. This usually gets rid of the last bit of salt. I put a Seio 820 in my mixing bucket since I had an extra laying around, works just as well (still have dead spots)

I agree with that it would be fine, but i think that in a 5 gallon bucket your probably going to have water on the floor, it is diffently a overkill, you could save on cost and down size to a mag700 which would still be more than adequate.

I use the mag 7 since I already had it but the MJ1200 should work, my mag 7 is also the pump I use to do water changes which only takes me about ten minutes.
