maxi-jet stream mod flow probs

I switched from my seio620 to a modified maxi-jet900 because I the seio on a timer and the seio did not like being on half the day and off the other half. Sometimes when it was supposed to turn on in the morning it wouldn't, so I switched over to a modified maxi-jet900. The problem with the modified mj900 is that sometimes it starts in reverse(sucking water in the outlet instead of pushing the water out of the outlet). When I unplug it and reverse the poles on the plug(turn the plug around) it usually works correctly. The problem is that I can't be there to do this every morning. I was wondering if anyone knows a way or some special trick to keep this from happening with the mod'd mj900. I just realized that the seio's are not made to be run on a wavemaking device/timer, so that explains the problem with the seio. If anyone can give me any ideas on how to fix the mj900 flow problems, it would be greatly appreciated,

theres supposed to be a stopper so that the prop hits it if it starts in reverse and gets it going the rite way.

It's just a piece of acrylic rod that will stop the prop if it spins the wrong direction. You can pretty much use anything that will stop it though. The way it works is if it spins the wrong direction the prop will move all the way to the front and hits the stopper. It will switch directions (since it is AC current) and move back towards the motor when going the right direction and the prop will miss the stopper continuing to spin in the right direction. Does that make sense?

thanks abunch for all the help, I especially like the video, but it didn't show how to make the stopper, that is to be continued, but the video was great and showed just how easy it is too make one of these. The mjmods site showed me exactly what to do for the stopper and I'm glad they sell all the parts to make your own, I'll will be ordering a couple of kits from them and moding a few more mj's. Thank you all for the links and help.

These modded mj's are a whole lot better than my seio's because they consume much less energy and can handle the constant starting and stopping of being on a timer/wavemaker.

I have not been able to get on the mjmod site. Are they down? I wanted to order a kit or 2.
