Hi so I have a 10 gallon reef tank with a ten gallon sump and a skimmer and such my lighting is a 72 watt T5 half actinic light. I HAve this store right neer me called the Mystic reef. Well they always Have at least 50 maxi minis avaliable in whatever colour you want. So i read up on them and I was like heck ya ecause I have Sps in this tank. Why cant I have maxi minis. So my only problemo is I have quite a few corals in this tank including a hammer coral. How fast do these guys actualy move? I have about a 6 inch radious on my rockwork where there are no corals. do you think its worth it to place it there? I could also put all my corals to one side on the sand bed whilst he moves and finds a home but only for like an hour how long does it take them to be happy? also how long a drip acclemation?

Hi,
I have several of these in my tank, and am also in the processes of propagate a bunch of them in my frag system.

1st let me say I love these little guys. Sexy shrimp and porciline crabs will be hosted by them. I have found that once they pick a spot they don't usually move. But that is the tricky part, they have to pick the spot. You can help this along by giving them a place to hide their foot.

I have found that size seem to go along with certain colors My pink and green ones always seem to get about 5-6 inches. Purple and green 3-4 inches and mixed colors about 2-3 inches. Remember these guys can sting, they don't seem to bother LPS or clams and mushrooms, but will bleachout sps.

Also they have been know to eat small fish and snails. I spot feed all mine about once a week, they are alway hungry.

And in my oppinion, for nanos, these nems can't be beat:)

They are tough and I just do the 1hr acclemation time. As far as happy time, that depends, because they can pick a spot only to move overnight to a different spot :)

Good luck

cool I have a 2 inch watchman goby. he would be fine right? I have 2 sps so I can temperaraly move them to the other side of the tank everythig else is a softie or LPS.

Alright no reply yet but I am gonna go for it next weekend I think and get the smallest coolest one they have.

The three I have started out in a 3g pico and were in there for just under a year. Mine never moved and to this day have not eaten any fish. They were moved to a 10g and finally to a 40 breeder where they are now, on the same rocks they started on. Great little nems.

+1 on making him a spot to hide his foot where you want him to stay. if you have sand at the bottom of a rock where you want him to be,dig a hole in the sand next to the rock and place him there with the flow off or very low for a bit. That should help him make up his mind.

Mine buried his foot where I wanted him and hasnt moved in almost a year.

cool for whoever cares they ask 24$ the geys really like me because I am 13 so they give me all kinds of deals. I might even be able to get one for 15$
