Hello, im going to build 2 maxijet 1200 mods and wanted to know where to get the parts.
#1 Whats are the parts list?
#2 Where can i get all the parts for the mod?
#2b DO Home depot or Lowes carry the parts?
#3 With the parts what are the best prop to use with the mj1200?
#4 i have a 75G How many ph should i use or am i over killing it.

Between the time and cost of gas driving around to find all the parts needed, you'd be better off ordering the parts from http://mjmods.com and put them together yourself.

The best prop to use is the 3004 Dumas (1.75")
it would probably be a bit much for your 75g tank though unless it's a full blown SPS tank. Otherwise stick with the Octura 1435.

I have 2 MJ400 mods running the smallest 3002 Dumas (1.25") and there's plenty of flow for my 55g mixed tank. And they are the only sources of flow in the tank too.

Very nice stuff at www.mjmods.com

I cannot agree with the two statments above. I know the owner of www.mjmods.com. He is a great guy and if you have any problems he will be more than willing to help you out. I also have to stay that the parts from MJmods.com are all superior than what you will make yourself (for the most part) as they are all CNC machined.

the cf rod and props can be bought from towerhobbies.com

the outer tube can be gotten from most LFS or online stores, its just ridgid airline tubing. same for the flexable airline tubing.

and the pipe stuff can all be gotten from homedepot/lowes.

thats all you need.

add it all up and your probably about right on the price. difference is, you'll have 3' of allthe tubings to make about a bajillion mods, and the piping, same deal; its like 30cents a foot, a single foot is atleast 3 mods worth if you dont screw any up.

props are sold in sets though, so no quantity savings there unfortunatly(unless you do single prop mods)

so IMO, 1 mod, go through them, 2 might be cheaper to do it yourself.

of course, you will need a miter or table saw, and hopefully you finish with as many fingers as you started with.

Um... What don't you agree with? Your response was a bit contradicting and confusing to me

Has anyone setup the instructions in like pdf file or word doc so people can download it instead of trying to look through the hundreds of pages on the thread????

yep i agree with both sides but as it is i will pay the 59.99 / each, and get 2 mods and have a professinal look and know if anything happenes its under warranty. i may do one myself to see how i do im a pretty handy guy so i should be alset.
