I have a maxima clam purchased a few weeks back and a frogspawn coral, pictured below.
The problem is both these have to share a fairly smallish area of the tank because most of the tank is too high flow for them. The clam seems to keep moving & ending up next to the frogspawn. Each time this happens I have been moving the frogspawn, but then the clam moves and finds it again. This time I've left it next to the frogspawn for maybe a week or so, the frogspawn, which is normally more extended than in the pic, tentacles drift all over the clam and touch it, but no harm seems to be done. As it appears all is well I may just leave it like this, but just want a second opinion, will the frogspawn eventually sting it?
BTW there are other rocks around the clam can nudge up to, but it ALWAYS finds the frogspawn. Once next to the frogspawn it stays there. Not sure if this is deliberate or not.
It occured to me that in the wild, it is possible that clams & frogspawn may share similar habitat, and this may have caused the clams to become able to live next to a frogspawn. Just a thought?
