Maxima clam question

I have just been looking for a coral to add to my tank and have a few questions about the possibility of a maxima clam.
I have a 20(regualr, not long)gallon tank with 2x65 watt PC lightting (one atininc, one 10000k bulbs), is this enought lighting for a clam to do well in my tank?
I would most likely be placing it on the the bottom left hand corner of my tank in a low water flow area on the sandbed. Is this a good place for the clam?
Do they require target feedings at all?

I'd go with more light, especially if you are gonna place them on the bottom of the tank. With just 130W total...it'd be tough keeping them...IMHO, I wouldn't do it.

Target feeding with phyto is only when the clams are babies...under 3 inches...when they get to that size, most of the food they get through photosynthesis by the symbiotic algae, hence the need for strong lights...then I'd only target feed about once a week.

Hate to say it, but no, that's not enough for a Maxima clam. Your best bet is a H. Hippopus clam.

If you're really interested in a maxima, look into a metal halide bulb like a 150w.

Aight, ill just avoid the clam then, was just wondering if i had strog enough lights to support one. thanx.

T5 works also.

You could get away with keeping a Derasa or Squamosa. I hjavent had any problems keeping them. I feed them every other day.
