maxima lighting

I have a maxima on the bottom of a 75g with a 6 bulb ati fixture on it. Im having a problem with dinoflagellates and was thinking about lowering my light cycle, I was running 9hrs a day now at 7 1/2 and was thinking of going down to 6 hrs, when I finally questioned is this enough light for the clam?

think it's a close call. if you had to do that, could you raise the clam, or is he attached?

More light is better for the Maxima. They actually need lots more but short time low light maybe OK, depends on how it is right now, and how much reserve it had. It will not do well long term.

I would try to raise the clam and cut back the light cycle if you can.
