I'm pretty sure the two at the top are crocea.

they have the shell of a maxima,and were sold to me as ultra grade maximas.i really am not a clam expert by any means so maybe they arent maximas.

try to get a picture of the shell's from the side and a top down. a picture of the byssal opening would help too but don't bother moving them.

i have to agree with everyone else too, the top two are crocea's

how are u all keeping the clams under 2" i have had no luck but one all over the 3" mark i have no issues i have seen in book that thay say only 3" or more in. are good ones to try the one i have now was like right at 3in and now its like 6

i guess they are hearty or im doing something right.they are in a 38g tank,under 10k 150mh/130pc actinics.i have them on the bottom and they do fine.ive had all of them for about 3-4 months now.i keep my cal around 400ppm,my alk around 3.5meq/l,mag around 1200ppm,salt at 1.025,and temp at 78.i feed the tank once a day with phyto feast(7ml).thats it and i havent had a problem with any of them yet.

the front right is a maxima for sure.the store i got it from is very reputable.this guy knows what he sells.here are the best pics i can get of the shells

whta i think, i know you said that the right was sold to you as a maxima but i have never seen a pattern/color on its mantle like that only on a squammy

ok i just opened up a book.the reef aquarium vol 1,it says that maximas and squamosas can be confused when small,due to the fact they both have scutes on their shells.so you may very well be right on the squammy.

you could be right to im not really going by the shell just by color and pattern and it looks like a squammy to me but it could be a maxima, idk anyone else have thoughts on the front right one?

i was thinking squamie too but couldn't see enough to be sure. maybe a close up of the incurrent siphon?

another easy way is to look at the symmetry of the shell. squamies show strong symmetry while maxima's do not. a maxima shell is usually longer than it is tall
